My story y vida
Hi! Hola! Bonjour! I’m La’Nita.
Hailing from Georgia, with footsteps in over 30 countries, my life is a vibrant tapestry woven from diverse professional and personal experiences. My mission has always centered on blending my passions for education, social service and empowering others to achieve fulfilling and impactful lives.
While my global treks might have been non-stop, my voyage into consulting was anything but direct. However, my vocation for service has been a constant since college, when I ran an ESL teaching program for Hispanic day laborers while they waited for daily work. I have served in various industries and capacities throughout my career, including finance, sales, higher education program management, diplomacy, training and curriculum design, strategic partnership development, holistic health, and sound healing. It’s always been clear that my heart’s compass has consistently pointed toward helping individuals discover their true selves and chase their dreams. This calling often extended beyond my formal roles.
A pivotal moment came in 2016 during a volunteer trip to Burkina Faso, where I survived a terrorist attack carried out by youth. This harrowing experience underscored the critical disparities in opportunities and the destructive impact of misguided actions on one’s dreams.
It propelled me to focus my professional efforts on helping others realize their aspirations and maximize their potential, particularly among youth and communities of color.
Transitioning from the corporate and bureaucratic mazes, I founded iluminada+ consulting co., reflecting my belief in the transformative power of diversity for collective advancement. My consultancy leverages an intercultural, multi-sectoral approach informed by over a decade of private sector, nonprofit, higher education, government, international development, and EdTech experiences.

Every step of my journey, marked by confusion, passion, and the drive to overcome barriers, has been anchored by support systems that helped me navigate the uncharted.
